Deploy Maximo EAR faster on WebSphere

  1. Stop MXServer application server
  2. Rebuild Maximo EAR
    • \IBM\SMP\maximo\deployment\buildmaximoearwas8.cmd (Windows)
    • /IBM/SMP/maximo/deployment/buildmaximoearwas8.sh (Linux)
  3. Locate the directory where Maximo builds the EAR
    • \IBM\SMP\maximo\deployment\default
  4. Open Maximo EAR file
    • Note that a ear file is actually a compressed file so any archiver manager like 7zip can be used
  5. Locate the WebSphere directory where Maximo EAR file is deployed
    • \IBM\WebSphere\AppServer\[profileName]\installedApps\[cellName]\MAXIMO.EAR
    • Note that MAXIMO.EAR is a directory and not a file.
  6. Copy all necessary files from .ear to the above directory
    • If you modified Business Object classes, then you must copy the businessobject.jar file
    • If you modified UI classes, then you must open the maximouiweb.war (this is a compressed file too) and copy the files to maximouiweb.war directory from WebSphere deployment directory
  7. Start MXServer application server
